Drivers willing to spend more on secondhand vehicles
Supermarket Sainsbury’s car loans operation has claimed that 5.53 million people will buy a used car between now and February 2008.
There is a 12 per cent increase in the amount of money buyers planned to spend on each car between March and August this year, working out at an average of £600 per car.
Sainsbury’s claimed cars bought in the next six months would cost an average of £4,648 each.
“Our findings reveal that people are looking to spend more on their second-hand car purchases compared with six months ago,” said Sainsbury’s Loans head Steven Baillie.
